It's interesting what Cameron had to say on vacheron's superior fit and finnish compared to patek; I saw a vid on a particular pp being shown off and I was shocked to see a screw through the sapphire case back had been had been damaged by a slip of the screwdriver when being assembled and you could see it had been polished over to smooth out the burr but you could blatantly see the damage done, and was shocked how it passed the quality control😮

I thought this was going to be the watchmaker talking directly to us. Interviews almost never work because the vast majority of the interviewers have an agenda and along list of prepared questions. They only need one; how do you go from a hobbyist watch maker to a professional. And then stand back and let him explain.

You guys do your due diligence, AP and most top watch brands shared technology. AP Royal Oak designed by Gerald Genta. Gerald designed the Patek Nautilus, Omega Constellation. Patek, Roger Dubuis and Omega used Lemania based movements on chronograph. AP and Richard Mille uses Renaud & Papi to make their complicated movements. 😏 Omega is among the top tier watch brands with amazing history and achievements. Recently most brands brag about in-house movements. Go buy something else that an actor who made spaghetti sauce 😂

Hello, Questions: 1. When will both Seiko and Grand Seiko put an end to model inflation and stop confusing customers by releasing fewer models? 2. Do they plan to offer fine-tuning and quick-change options on their watch bracelets and bands? 3. Will they stop releasing different products in different parts of the world? 4. Are they considering a day-date or triple calendar model for both Hi-Beat and Spring Drive watches? Thanks

I love Tudor, and they do leave certain things it in purpose to 1. Keep it inexpensive and 2. Get folks that purchase Tudors wanting that extra function, fit and finish etc. I don't despise Rolex, i love Rolex too, but I wear my Tudor more than I would the Rolex Explorer II. I like them both for different reasons.

Dudes before Omega James Bond used other watch brands besides Rolex, including Seiko, Breitling, Gruen......they settled on Omega in part because Omega was largest supplier of watches to military in WW2 reflected the image of secret service rather than status symbol.

The Orisbach, or Oris Brook, that divides the border between Solothurn and Basel-Landschaft Cantons in Switzerland. The Oris Brook is, in fact, not the brook next to the Oris factory, but instead it's a short drive away. One theory is that they found the neighboring brook too difficult to pronounce for an international audience but the emotional pull of naming the company after a brook led them to the name.

A Man and His Watch ... a simple introduction to wrist watches, but this book has a lot of mistakes, here're three examples: Page 82: Edmund Hillary wore a Rolex on the top of Everest. In fact, since 1933 Rolex sponsored the Himalayan expeditions and they used the right words, Rolex worn TO the top of Mt Everest. New Zealander Edmund Hillary carried a 33mm SMITHS wrist watch ON top of Everest. This British-made SMITHS can be seen in the British Science museum in London. Page 103: Omega Alaska Project Speedmasterwas never used in space In fact, in 1977 the Omega Alaska II Project Speedmaster was worn during Russian Soyuz 25 & Soyuz 26 missions to Salyut-6 space station. It was even used during a spacewalk in July 1978 ! Page 104: Schirra's Speedmaster was the first watch in space (1962) In fact, in April 1961 Yuri Gagarin wore the first watch in space, a Russian-made 17 jewels Shturmanskie #MoonwatchUniverse

Lol, not my favorite guest. Honestly, his take on the OysterFlex making a Yacht-Master look “small” is odd to me. This new “bigger is better” 40+ mm watch fad we have going on is relatively new and somewhat pompous. I anticipate the correction of this over the next decade or so. Guys walking around with bricks on their wrists is annoying.

I can't speak to watch making but just by watching youtube videos I've done everything from replace a clutch on my Volkswagen GTI to replacing my radiator and power steering pump to installing a lift on my SUV. The most important thing is to have all the tools needed and to have them ready to go when the project commences. Most frustration occurs when you have everything disassembled and realize that you don't have a $10 tool. Nothing worse than having to pay for a $30 Uber to Autzone for a $10 tool.
